Francis Leo Marcos has never made any formal admission that he is in any way related to the First Family. When asked, his only reply is,

 "IT IS A PRIVILEGED COMMUNICATION BUT I HAVE NOT THE LIBERTY TO DIVULGE ANY INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE FIRST FAMILY. I AM A MARCOS, AND THEY ARE A MARCOS".

THE STORY

As days go by in the time of this pandemic, Francis Leo Marcos never stopped extending help to the needy, especially for food. This was his promise when he happened to see families and other people alongside the streets of Manila. It can be recalled that he has been doing philanthropic activities as early as 2007 through his foundations, with his friends and relatives.

SOCIAL MEDIA

With this, Francis Leo Marcos gained massive attention through social media. His first media appearance was when he and two of his men went live on Facebook buying sacks of rice and other goods from a Department Store, cooked, packed, and distributed it to the people including front liners implementing the lockdown guidelines. This was also the time when he challenged his neighbors in Green Meadows Subdivision to also come out and do something, for the government may not sustain the food allowance all over the country. This caused irritation to his neighbors, and few individuals started coming out in the media full of criticisms and allegations directed to him. 

When his Facebook Page was taken down the next day, he shifted to YouTube to continue airing his activities and the MAYAMAN CHALLENGE(Challenge For The Rich). He amazingly gained one million subscribers within one month and a week, without first knowing that YouTube pays its members after meeting its two primary requirements- at least One Thousand subscribers and Four Thousand watch hours. He is now monetized with about One Million Seventy Thousand plus subscribers up to this time.

THE CRITICS

As expected, critics are piling up doing all means to discredit, raise negative issues, and libelous accusations against his activities and personality. One sad thing is that these critics keep trying to connect him to the Marcoses, since he is using the last name, MARCOS, Marcos. Francis Leo Marcos warned his critics for their libelous attacks and he will be meeting them all in the proper court soon.

                                      

There were attempts by Radio Station hosts interviewing Bongbong Marcos asking if he knows or if he is related with Francis Leo Marcos, but the latter denied any because ever since there were persons claiming that they are a son or brother of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, or they are the real Bongbong Marcos. 

Politics is divided into two large groups in the Philippines. One is the SOLID MARCOSES who also support the leadership of President Duterte and a smaller group who are supporters of the Liberal Party or what we call here as the Yellows. Few MARCOS Supporters abhor what Francis Leo Marcos is doing, which is giving his all in today's time of the pandemic. They feel bad because of the reality that they are jealous or they just can not accept that there is one person doing greater things compared to what they can only do. A CRAB MENTALITY running in the veins of few Filipinos. 

FRANCIS LEO MARCOS AND THE "MAYAMAN CHALLENGE"

The Challenge

The epidemic COVID-19 virus led Francis Leo Marcos to come in the open challenging all politicians out there to fulfill their promises during the election campaign, and including the rich. His challenge was vocal, brave, demanding, and something sarcastic. His action draws positive and negative reactions from those who heard his challenge irritating the subdivision homeowners.

He said he had been doing humanitarian activities since young but this is the only time he came to challenge others to help the hungry and also the government. He drove around inside the subdivision in his white Mustang, carrying his challenge and pointing to his neighbors, but without dropping a single name. He said I know there is a hero inherent to every man and woman. Let’s awaken them. If this is the only way to awaken the hero inherent to every man in our land, every good man in our land, and every rich man in my subdivision, so be it

Gone Viral

I was one of those who watched his first live stream through FB. He and two of his boys heading to a department store buying about 10 sacks of rice and sort of food packs. This is to feed people and families along the main streets of Manila, including front liners they happen to pass by. The Activity continued down to some barangays. Up to this day, he was able to reach out about 200 tons of rice according to one of his latest reports. He didn't accept donations. He advised donors to be the ones to reach for those who are in need, and it would be great for him. 

His live videos started trending, reaching viewers far more than what the top vloggers and other organizations have attained in their streaming. Filipinos are compassionate, especially when you do something good and extraordinary to others. Your personality, whether good or bad, you're a hero. There are continuously growing number of respondents accepting and duplicating what he is doing. Giving food to the needy, big or small. Today, his YouTube channel already reached more than 640,000 subscribers while his FB page was taken down.

Who is Francis Leo Marcos

He confessed that Francis Leo Marcos and Norman Antonio Mangusin are one.  He was named Francis Leo Marcos, because, according to him, his mother was greatly inspired by the great deeds of the late President Ferdinand Marcos and the first lady. His mother is an Igorota-Ilocana from Baguio city. he is married to Mayu Murakami in July 2019, who was crowned Miss Universe Japan in 2013. There is no information regarding his father. 

Francis Leo Marcos is a businessman, a Philanthropist, and CEO & Chairman of Marcos Group of Companies since 2005. He is also the chairman of the Volunteer Against Poverty Foundation, Inc., and also the chairman of the Oriental Perlinian Foundation. He studied high school at the National High School of Massachusetts Bay Belmont and graduated a degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, in 1997. He presently resides at Green Meadows, Pasig City, Manila.

Francis Leo Marcos has long been doing outreach programs and it's only known to the communities where the activities were conducted. There were charges filed against him in the past in relation to his philanthropic activities but all were acquitted. Lately, he received a summon for alleged alarming scandal and unjust vexation from the homeowners of the subdivision in which it has yet to be addressed.

He once appeared in a national newspaper(The Philippine Star, Oct. 7, 2013) donating 5 tons of rice to 2,000 families in Pasay city in his efforts to fight starvation in the country being the Chairman of Francis Leo Marcos Foundation. Together with him was his aunt Fortuna Marcos Barba the sister of former President Ferdinand Marcos and siblings Chito, Dino, and Fidel Barba Marcos.
